Grandma Zona's Cinnamon Toast

In our home at 2125 Lake Street, in San Francisco, when Butchie and Sis (my brother and I) wanted this treat, he would bring me one of mom's metal pots and a spoon and we would parade around the house, each banging a pot singing "WE WANT CINNAMON TOAST, WE WANT CINNAMON TOAST!" until mom started laughing and stopped what she was doing to make us some toast. He was eight years older than I was, and could get me into any kind of mischief!

Makes 4 pieces of cinnamon toast
Ingredients4 Tbs butter8 Tbs brown sugar, light or dark1/4 Tsp cinnamon (or to taste)4 pieces of nice white bread (Sara Lee is good)
DirectionsTo increase the amount, use the same ratio of 2 sugar to 1 butter. You can make ahead a few days.Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in brown sugar. Add cinnamon. Cook a little until it becomes a "spread".
